A NOTE FROM 4D SNEAK PEEK

When Is the Best Time for a 4D Ultrasound?

October 14, 2026

The best time for a 4D ultrasound at our Jackson, Tennessee studio is 30–32 weeks, with standard sessions available from 27 weeks. Learn how to plan.

Our recommended window: 30–32 weeks

The best time for a 4D ultrasound at 4D Sneak Peek is between 30 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. Our standard Classic and Ultimate 4D sessions are available from 27 weeks.

If you are planning a visit to our ultrasound studio in Jackson, Tennessee, that gives you a helpful starting point—not a guarantee of a particular picture. Your baby’s position and the imaging conditions on the day also matter. If you are outside that window or unsure which appointment to choose, call or text us at (731) 487-3015 before booking.

How many weeks for a 3D ultrasound?

Families sometimes ask about 3D and 4D baby ultrasound as if they are separate appointment types. A 3D image is a still view with depth; 4D adds movement. Our standard HDLive bonding packages offer this later-pregnancy experience, so use the same studio guidance: recommended at 30–32 weeks, available from 27 weeks.

See Classic Sneak Peek and Ultimate Sneak Peek for the current session lengths, printed pictures, digital recordings and other inclusions. Choose based on your stage of pregnancy and the package details—not a promise that a longer scan will produce clearer views.

An early 4D add-on is a different option

Earlier in pregnancy, our Early 4D add-on is available with a 2D ultrasound between 8 and 24 weeks. It is an optional early look, not a replacement for our standard 4D packages.

The view at an earlier stage is different from the later-pregnancy facial examples you may have seen. Review our sessions and add-ons before selecting it. For an early 2D visit, explore 2D Little Beginnings.

Prepare for your appointment without expecting a guarantee

Our studio asks moms to focus on hydration before a 3D/4D appointment. Fluid around the baby is important for obtaining views, and poor imaging conditions can limit the pictures we can capture. Hydration does not guarantee a clear view or a change in fluid levels.

Follow your prenatal provider’s advice, especially if you have fluid restrictions or other medical instructions. Do not override those instructions or force excessive fluid intake for a picture. Ask us about preparation ahead of your visit so you are not trying to do everything at the last minute.

What if your baby’s face stays hidden?

A hand, a turned face or other imaging conditions may prevent us from seeing the face clearly. Sample images show what a particular visit captured, not what every appointment will produce.

Ultimate customers may be offered a $69, 15–20-minute rescan at the sonographer’s discretion. It is usually offered only when the face was not seen at all during the original scan. It is not an automatic entitlement and is available only to customers who purchased Ultimate. Read the studio’s FAQs and policies and ask us about your circumstances; do not assume the same option applies to Classic.

Make room for the visit itself

For a 3D/4D appointment, plan to arrive 15 minutes early to sign consent paperwork and have your Bomee app barcode added. You are welcome to share the visit with family and friends in our spacious viewing room and watch on the theater-style screen.

When you are ready to plan, compare the current ultrasound packages. If you will be traveling into Jackson, plan your studio visit and directions before choosing your appointment time.
