What to Expect at Your First 4D Sneak Peek Appointment

If you are wondering what to expect at a 4D ultrasound at 4D Sneak Peek, you will visit our boutique studio in Jackson, Tennessee, share the scan on a theater-style screen, and receive the keepsakes included in your chosen package. The views depend on your baby’s position and the imaging conditions—not every visit looks like the examples.

For a 3D/4D appointment, arrive 15 minutes early to complete consent paperwork and have your Bomee app barcode added. That gives you time to get ready before the appointment itself.

Our standard 4D scans are recommended at 30–32 weeks and are available from 27 weeks. If you are earlier in pregnancy, review the 2D options and their own timing rather than assuming a standard 4D session is available.

Classic Sneak Peek includes a 20–25-minute scan, two color pictures, five black-and-white pictures and Bomee digital upload. Ultimate Sneak Peek includes 35–40 minutes of bonding time, four color pictures, 10+ black-and-white pictures, Bomee and a small heartbeat animal. Ultimate customers can upgrade the included animal to a large one for $12; studio designs vary.

For 3D/4D appointments, the studio asks you to focus on hydration beforehand. Fluid around the baby is important for obtaining pictures, and imaging conditions may limit what we can see. Being hydrated does not guarantee clear images.

Follow any fluid or dietary restrictions from your prenatal healthcare provider. Do not force excessive drinking or change medical instructions to prepare for a keepsake scan. If you need personalized preparation guidance, call or text the studio before your appointment.

Absolutely—bring the children and your whole crew! We love children and large groups, and we love getting to celebrate this special moment with you! Our spacious ultrasound viewing room has no guest limit, so family and friends can share those first glimpses together on our large theater-style screen.

Little ones are welcome! Just be sure an adult other than the mom receiving the ultrasound is there to look after the children, so you can relax and enjoy your scan. Read more about our studio space on Your Visit.

For 3D/4D ultrasounds, the 15-minute early arrival is used to sign consent paperwork and add your Bomee app barcode. Bomee is included with our 4D scans, allowing you to revisit the digital recording and share it with loved ones.

Bomee is an optional $10 add-on for 2D ultrasounds. Check your package before assuming a recording or a particular number of printed pictures is included. We do not promise lifetime access to a third-party app.

You might be eager to see a face or a particular little feature. A baby’s position, a hand in the way and other imaging conditions can affect the view. The sonographer will determine what can be captured during your session; we cannot guarantee a matching version of an example image.

The $69, 15–20-minute rescan is for Ultimate customers only and is offered at the sonographer’s discretion, usually when the face was entirely unseen.
